The Challenge
No credit score, no problem? Sounds too good to be true, right? A FICO-independent credit card that you don’t need a lick of credit to get? Something designed for immigrants and underserved folks?
People thought there was no way this was real.
Financial services already face a tough crowd when it comes to trust (no-name banks make banking customers leery) so we needed to catch mass consumer attention, while building trust with TomoCredit’s ideal customer base - and investors.

The Strategy
Trust was the name of the game. And when you’re building trust in fintech - you need to use two superpowers. The founder story + prominent headlines by respected journalists in fintech.
Like all the best founders, Kristy’s founder’s story was inspiring, emotional, and as an immigrant directly linked her purpose and passion in business, to the direct struggles she faced early on.

The Results
An aggressive pitching campaign that centered Kristy’s personal story and why she founded Tomo, caught the attention of prominent fintech journalists at Forbes, Inc., Fast Company, American Banker, TechCrunch etc and in addition to building out a robust online presence solidified trust with consumer and future investors.
In 2022, on the heels of this coverage, Kristy announced a $120M Series B.
